I was kind of hoping that, although Marc Webb is rebooting the franchise, there would be a place for J.K. Simmons in The Amazing Spider-Man. Not because I thought it would allow for a feeling of continuity or tradition—I just thought he was so damn good as crusty newspaper publisher J. Jonah Jameson. The guy just embodied the role from the outset.
So I guess almost got my wish fulfilled. ComingSoon confirmed that Simmons will voice the flat-topped head of the Daily Bugle for the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon when it hits Disney XD this Fall. Let’s hope we get plenty of J. Jonah I would certainly hate to see—or hear—Simmons being wasted.
