Superman: Man of Action!

If a picture says a thousand words, only one came to mind when I saw the newly released pic of Henry Cavill from Superman: The Man of Steel: action.

Yes, the word that was used so infrequently to describe Bryan Singer’s 2006 effort, Superman Returns. In fact, I believe the new picture is a promise to potential movie-goers that they are in store for some serious action when Superman does indeed return to the big screen to do battle with General Zod (Michael Shannon) and Faora (Antje Trau).

Cavill looks none too pleased in the new picture, where he’s used his infamous super-strength to create a new door. This a far cry from the first image of Brandon Routh as Superman (below) which was a nobler pose, harkening the more iconic shots of Christopher Reeve as Big Blue. This was the right way to go. Director Zack Snyder and producer Christopher Nolan need to distance themselves from Singer’s lackluster film, which turned out to be more a romance than anything else—an icky one at that!

So here you have it folks—count on some serious fisticuffs when Superman: The Man of Steel finally soars into theaters during the summer of 2013. Supes will be competing with Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 for comic book-loving movie audiences. That’s okay though. After all, he’s clearly looking for some action.

I am thinking Superman shows up and Zod sucker punches (get it?) Supes....forcing him into a few walls where finally the Man of Steel hits a hard cold vault door.

Not used to being on the receiving end of a punch Supes gets to his feet and starts to feel something he hasn't before....anger and the desire to hit something...someone back.

See how this one photo does more than Superman Returns in its entirety.

Oh 2013...come at me faster than a speeding bullet.

Hard to tell for sure, but Supes outfit is looking kinda New 52'ish.
