Once X-Men: Schism ends we’ve been told that there will be two new X-Men teams with—both with differing ideas on the state of the mutant race. Wolverine and the X-Men ships in October and Uncanny X-Men relaunches with #1 in November.
Where is Cyclops? Marvel has eluded to the founding member not making it out of Schism alive. And what will the face of mutantkind look like when all is said and done? There’s a distinct possibility that the population could explode if Wanda Maximoff (currently revived in Avengers: The Children’s Crusade) is able to undo the damage done on M Day.
It appears that Emma Frost is going to ascend to leader of the new Cyclops-less team. Since I am not versed in all things mutant, I can only speculate as to who is pictured behind the former White Queen. I’d say that it’s pretty clear that Magneto is to her left in the air. While it could be Juggernaut on the right—I’m going to say that it might be Colossus in Juggy’s headgear. I’m basing this off the teaser we got a few months ago in which Piotr Rasputin was trying the famous helmet on for size (below).
We’ll have to wait and see if Marvel continues to reveal addition team members over the course of the week (I’d count on it).
