Wolverine 2 Movie News

I pray that the Wolverine film franchise is as resilient as its title character. After X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a sequel is going to need a hefty amount of help to recover from the forgetfulness of the first film.

By bringing Director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler) and Writer Chris McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) into the mix, this movie is oozing with potential. Great, great potential. I would be surprised if in this outing we are force fed another parade of fan favorite mutants whose presence is only to satiate the fansiest of fanboys. Aronofsky has not officially been announced as the film’s director, but rumors indicate that it is a certainty.

Shooting on the film is expected to commence in New York next March and Hugh Jackman is reportedly beginning the workout regimen to get himself into superheroic shape. After shooting in New York the film moves to London—it appears that the sequel will use the original 1982 Frank Miller/Chris Claremont Wolverine mini-series as it’s inspiration.

My only request: Drop the X-Men: Origins from the title.

I see a lot of hope as well, my only issue is that this Wolverine is going down the path of Highlander...YES HIGHLANDER...where its immortal star is starting to look not so immortal. BIG muscles are not going to make Huge any younger.

They could use a soft lens like they did to Doris Day in all of her films. Or they could use the trickery that shaved three--nay--five years off of Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart in "X-Men: Origins: X-Men 3: The Last Stand."
