'Flashpoint' Thursday? DC Teases Some More a Day Early

DC's official May solicitations arrive on Monday, but they decided to spoil the goods on what is sure to be the biggest book on their lineup that month: Flashpoint #1.

Before we get to the solicit, DC announced that the books are double-stuffed at 40 pages with a $3.99 price point. I can't imagine many fans upset at paying one buck more for 20 additional pages. Especially when those pages are written by Geoff Johns with art by Andy Kubert.

DC has promised that the remaining tie-ins and one-shots that fall under the Flashpoint banner will remain at DC's $2.99 (to ensure their will be no crossing of lines).  I expect that we will get some interesting developments tomorrow, DC's designated day for Flashpoint announcements. I'm crossing my fingers for creative team announcements or confirmation that the 15 extra Flashpoint titles will be replacing regular ongoing titles.

Now onto that solicit:

FLASHPOINT #1
Written by GEOFF JOHNS
Art and cover by ANDY KUBERT
1:25 Variant cover A by ANDY KUBERT
Variant cover B by IVAN REIS and GEORGE PEREZ

Everything You Know Will Change in a Flash!

Not a dream, not an imaginary story, not an elseworld. This is a Flash Fact: When Barry Allen wakes at his desk, he discovers the world has changed. Family is alive, loved ones are strangers, and close friends are different, gone or worse. It’s a world on the brink of a cataclysmic war – but where are Earth’s Greatest Heroes to stop it? It’s a place where America’s last hope is Cyborg, who hopes to gather the forces of the Outsider, the Secret 7, S!H!A!Z!A!M!, Citizen Cold and other new and familiar-yet-altered faces.

It’s a world that could be running out of time, if The Flash can’t find the villain who altered the time line!

Welcome to FLASHPOINT!
