I’m new to the world of Locke & Key, but that hasn’t kept me from instantly embracing one of the coolest and most inventive books in years (see my review of the first trade—I finished the second amazing trade last weekend). The book is being developed into a new series for Fox and singer/actor Jesse McCartney is the final member of the Locke children to be cast.
McCartney, who is currently voicing Robin in Young Justice, will play troubled son Tyler Locke. The actor joins Miranda Otto (Nina), Sarah Bolger (Kinsey), Skylar Gaertner (Bode), and Nick Stahl (Duncan).
Locke & Key is the story of the Locke family, which is torn apart after the devastating murder of the family’s patriarch Rendell. Nina moves her children to Lovecraft, Massachusetts, to live with their uncle Duncan in Keyhouse—the mysterious childhood home of Rendell Locke. Before you know it, things grow darker as the mysteries of Keyhouse are learned and the live of the Locke family grow more and more complex.
If you haven’t followed Locke & Key by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, the book is absolutely worth a read. The first three trades are available for purchase.
