Marvel teased a new summer release called Mystery Men today with the tagline “Who are the Mystery Men?” They are likely not the heroes of the Dark Horse comic and 1999 Ben Stiller film adaptation of the same name.
There has been speculation that they are a team of obscure—really obscure—heroes featured in Daring Mystery Comics (below) from pre-Marvel publisher Timely Comics. I assume, and my fingers are crossed, that the book is a period piece featuring little-known characters such as the Thunderer, Citizen V, the Fin, Silver Scorpion and Captain Daring. I mean… CAPTAIN DARING!
Bring on the mad scientists, marauding robots, fedora-wearing gangsters, and damsels in distress! Mystery Men is scheduled for release this June. Don't forget to drink your Ovaltine!
