Another Run of 'Wednesday Comics' is in the Cards for DC

Thanks again Social Networking!

According to Bleeding Cool, artist Steve Rude’s wife Gino may have let the cat out of the bag this weekend when she admitted on Facebook that the artist would be working on a New Gods story for an upcoming sequel to Wednesday Comics, probably one of DC’s best weekly experiments.

Wednesday Comics was a writer/artist tour de force in which some of the best storytellers in the medium worked on a single page story—17 in all!—over the course of twelve weeks. By the end of the run the readers had complete stories printed on glorious newsprint to give the feel of the comic strips that us old timers curled up with while Dad and Mom fought over the Sunday paper. For the purists who could not stand their favorite artists work on such a shoddy rag, DC printed a glorious collected addition that is a love letter to the art form from cover to cover.

While DC may not be excited that Rude’s wife beat them to the punch, comic fans have something new to be excited for in 2011!
