'Green Hornet' is Not Enjoying Spectacular Reviews

Daily Variety’s Peter Debruge is something of a lone wolf tonight. I say that because he is the only critic in Rotten Tomatoes’ Top Critics who is giving a big, ripe red tomato to The Green Hornet. The rest of the wolf pack has not been so kind.
While critics have been wrong before—they were lukewarm towards Kick-Ass—the new Seth Rogen superhero film is really getting clobbered. The Green Hornet is currently enjoying a score of 13% positive (that’s one good review and seven bad) among the reviewers listed on the Top Critics page. The film rises to 46% positive reviews (well below the good movie threshold of 60%) when including all of the site’s reviews of the film.
While not immediately enamored with The Green Hornet upon first glance, I have become increasingly eager to see the movie after Yahoo released several promising clips. If things continue at this pace, I may have to take in a matinee.
