I find artwork like this to be a love letter to the comics I grew up on. While I'm a bit young to have enjoyed the first appearance of Spider-Man, I did read all of his early adventures in the form of reprints in the pages of Marvel Tales. Each issue was the original story as presented by Spidey-creators Stan Lee and the great Steve Ditko. Marcos Martin has created a wonderful wrap-around cover for issue #648 featuring many of the villains who have failed to keep the wall-crawler down for nearly 50 years. This month Dan Slott becomes the ongoing writer on The Amazing Spider-Man with Humberto Ramos on pencils; the title also goes from a weekly printing to biweekly.
