Ultimate Comics: Hawkeye #1 by Adam Kubert |
I’m somewhat late to following Jonathan Hickman. Like many I picked up the amazing final arc of the Fantastic Four and on into the exciting new follow-up series FF. I also enjoyed his Thor “clean-up” in Ultimate Thor a few months ago.
Earlier this week Marvel announced that Hickman would be relaunching the new Ultimate Comics: Ultimates title (with artist Esad Ribic) under the banner “Ultimate Comics Universe Reborn” banner. On Tuesday, Marvel announced Ultimates Comics: X-Men by Nick Spencer and Paco Medina.
Yesterday came news of another Hickman project: Ultimate Comics: Hawkeye, a four-part mini-series with artist Rafa Sandoval which ships this August. There seems to be a lot of energy going into the Ultimate Universe right now—today and tomorrow Marvel will hold additional press conferences to announce more Ultimate Comics titles. I’ll assume we’re going to get the announcement of another ongoing title (we need more than three!) as well as more information on Ultimate Comics: Spiderman by Brian Michael Bendis.
