'The Death of Spider-Man': Is this Some Marvel Hoax?
Ha Ha, really funny guys.
Guys?
Comic Book Resources somehow got their hands on the image for February's Marvel Previews with what must be a misprint: "Death of Spider-Man." A few hours later CBR (exclusively) posted the cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #655 by Marcos Martin which looks to be tied to said "death."
Something this enormous seems to be coming awfully quickly on the heels of Dan Slott's "Big Time" run on the book. I wonder if this is part of the master plan or a desire of Marvel's to acquire new readers. I've heard that the death of a top-tier hero can actually be good for business; "The Death of Superman" sold a whopping 1.5 million copies.
With the "Age of X" storyline and now this, Marvel's marketing folks clearly know how to get our attention. So let's see some more!
