According to Heat Vision, Denis Leary is in negotiations for the role of Captain George Stacy, the father of Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), in Marc Webb’s 2012 Spider-Man reboot. George Stacy was a police captain in the original Amazing Spider-Man as well as a supporter of Spidey’s good deeds; James Cromwell played the character who was briefly featured in Spider-Man 3 (although he and his daughter were superfluous to the story).
